Beach Trip
My husband and I just got home from a weekend getaway to the beach. It was simply awesome. We really didn't do anything spectacular, just enjoyed being together. We walked on the beach, ate way too much food, did some shopping, and strolled through Broadway at the Beach. At one point I caught myself saying, "I wish the kids were here." Then Tim & I looked at each other and I realized that was a crazy thing to say. We are going back to the beach in November with the kids and Tim's parents. This trip was just for us, and it really was nice.
I think for us, trips like this is the secret to our success. We aren't rick, we can't travel the world. But, we do try to take a weekend vacation 2-3 times a year alone. Usually it is in the off season when the rates & crowds are low. But, I hate hot weather anyway, so for me the off season is perferable anyhow.
So, today things are back to normal. Today is my birthday, but I have to work tonight. The weekend away was my real birthday present and I don't think there is anything in the world I would have rather had.
