In My Opinion...

About MustangMama

This is my area to talk about things that I am thrilled about, things I am angry about and just life in general. I'm a fairly opinionated, Christian, married mom of three kids, ages 17, 14 and 9. I just received a new Torch Red Mustang that I have lovingly named Giddy Up - Giddy for Short!

Valentine's Day

Well - the hubby did it!

As you all remember, he was going out of town to Dallas and I was going to be alone and I was all bummed out....

8pm last night my Valentine walked in the door from the airport.  I am amazed he even got here with all the snow.  The road outside of our neighborhood is still shut down due to drifting snow.  But my hubby has 4 wheel drive and he got through.

Now, you have to understand I am on this diet - so the typical treats for Valentines are out of the question and he knows that.  (I love making things difficult, lol)  While I love flowers, I have taught hubby that the cheapie flowers from the local Meijer are beautiful and make me happy.  I don't want him to spend $50  on flowers that die in a week...BUT he didn't want to do those for Valentines...so he walked in with the following:

~A beautiful Christian card that spoke so much - I can't even begin to tell you.
~A set of Jeff Gordon flags to hang this Sunday during the Daytona race - Daytona is our Super Bowl in this house - we are huge lovers of NASCAR and this kicks off the very long season.
~A black t-shirt with rhinestones that says Mustang Girl
~A sterling silver necklace with a Mustang Pony on it.

At 10pm last night  my Valentine swept me out through the drifting snow and took me via 4-wheel drive to dinner as well - we had a really nice time and I was just so happy he came home and suprised me like that - it meant so much to me.  What was even better - because we went so late and with the horrible conditions - the restaurant was quiet and romantic.

The rest of the night was good too.   His plane got in three hours late - but I was still thrilled that he was able to be here if only for a small part of the day.  He made the effort - he got some very nice gifts that I will be able to use and enjoy and just the fact he wanted to surprise me meant so much!

So I apologize for complaining the other day - I had no idea what his plan was!

Live, Laugh & Love,

MustangMama
