Swearing at the Alarm Clock

This morning when the alarm went off at 0-dark-hundred, I said #@$%^&*()#@$%^&&*() and reset it for 45 minutes later. Normally I would have taken that 45 minutes to slowly wake up, get ready for work, throw in a load of laundry, maybe wash some dishes if there are any in the sink. But this morning---NOPE! Back to bed 'cuz I wasn't crawlin' out before I absolutely had to
The weekend went very well, with one little mishap I will talk about in a little bit. Saturday Shelby & I had a great Girls' Day. Our portrait session went smoothly...I was going to post the website info so you can see the pics if you want to, but I forgot the paper they gave me when we left the house this morning. Lunch at Red Lobster was good - Shelby ate shrimp til she felt like she was gonna explode. She said "I waited a long time for this and I'm not wasting it"
Saturday night a group of us from work were going to have a bonfire/hayrack ride/whatever else but cancelled it due to the wind blowing about 40 mph all day. We didn't want to burn the whole county up! So instead a couple of us went to a movie. When we were deciding which one to see, we went WITH the critic's 3-star rating and ended up wasting $8 and 2 hours seeing something that left us asking "What was the point?" at the end.
Sunday was the Marathon Driving Day. We drove 2 1/2 hours to my aunt's house for Thanksgiving dinner with all the relatives from my mom's side of the family. I was the only one that went out of myself & my sisters so I felt like a gossip reporter updating everyone on the Denver sister's upcoming wedding, my divorce, and the other sister's changing roommate situation. After dinner & more visiting with the fam, we left to drive another 1/2 hour to my dad's house. We got there...and pulled into AN EMPTY DRIVEWAY! I had talked to him the weekend before and told him we were coming, and emailed him twice during the week reminding him and giving him a definite time we would be there. I thought surely, he didn't forget, maybe his wife had the car. We went to the door and knocked, peeked through the window, and nothing! All dark inside, no one around. (this would be the mishap I mentioned earlier) I tried calling his cell phone, no answer. Hmph! So, we just left the stuff we brought for him, things he had ordered from a couple fundraisers Shelby did, on the porch along with a note saying sorry he missed us. So I called a friend of mine that I still keep in contact with in the area and asked if she was busy and if she was in the mood for company if she wasn't. She told me to come on over so that's what we did. Ended up staying there til about 8:00 and then driving home, getting back around 10:30. (DON'T do the math, OK?) And that is why I swore at my alarm clock this morning. But it was soooooo worth it!
