Camp is Over

Band camp ended today with a finale concert from the kids.  It was really good! I can't believe how much they learned in 5 days. Last night, they were supposed to play The Star Spangled Banner before a drum corp competition. They did - and that's all we got to see. Just as the 1st corp got on the field and started playing, they stopped the show for weather. Then it started  pouring down rain. It came down in sheets.  Looking toward the lights, it looked like it was snowing. It lasted about 30 minutes. Just as the people started coming back to the stands, and the musicians were getting ready to go back on the field, it started again and a few minutes later, the show was cancelled.  In addition to learning all the songs, they learned music history and theory and improv skills. Well worth the stress that paying for it caused me. I think she's already planning on going next year.

Did I mention that my divorce has been FINAL since last Sunday?!?!?!?!!!!!

We are planning a wedding dress burning party for later this month. Kind of a dual purpose party, burning the dress combined with celebrating a year of singledom. July 23 is that date. Can't wait! You're invited! ;)

I have managed to pay off all the old bills that I was stuck paying. The old phone bill, the water cooler bill, and a couple other minor little things. And, I got my lawyer paid off for the divorce and bankruptcy. Wooo-hoooo!!! Go me!
