I Haven't Fallen Off the Planet!

Hey! It's been a while...

I guess I've been pretty busy with end of summer/start of school stuff. Pool parties, building floats for parades, Sertoma projects, open house at school, shopping & all that good stuff. Shelby can't wait to go back on Monday.

I was out of the office for a couple hours this morning, and when I came back, there were flowers on my desk from Shelby for my birthday tomorrow. What a good kid! She can be sweet when she wants to be.

Had a collect call at work this morning from the county jail, which I refused charges on. There's only one person I know that would call me from there, and I don't want to talk to him if that's where he is. Heh! Another good b-day present. The ex in jail.

I've gone out on one date with the guy I wrote about last time and we had a pretty good time. Shelby met him on Wednesday for the first time and said she thought he's pretty nice. I've not met his kids yet, but I have talked to all 3 of them on the phone. He has them full time. We're trying to get a 2nd date planned but it's taking some doing with both our schedules & all the kids' stuff. We do talk on the phone every night though, and sometimes email throughout the day if there's time. I definitely am not in any hurry with all of this. Up until about 3 months ago, I said I wasn't even going to date anybody ever. Hmph. Oh well, sometimes ya just gotta go with the flow.

My friends from work are gathering with me tomorrow night for some b-day beverages....that should be fun too. Last time we got together was the Dress Burning party, which was a riot.

It is exciting to hear you are dating again. You are smart to be taking things slow, but I know it is a lot of fun too!
