The One I Really Should Have Written Yesterday

9:25 AM, Aug. 15, 2006 .. Posted in Purrrrr .. 0 comments .. Link

We now resume our regularly scheduled blogging...........

This past Saturday was my birthday, last one of my 30's.

I started off the day with my sister taking Shelby to YET ANOTHER STORE to find the specific bag she wanted for school. This was the 3rd store we had gone to looking for it and I had told her that if she didn't find THE ONE she wanted, she was going to choose something that was right there in front of her and like it! I was not about to go to a 4th store for a freakin' book bag. Fortunately the one she wanted was there, and all was right with the world.

While we were shopping for some back to school clothes, the guy I'm dating called and sang Happy Birthday.  Sweet, yes but I said "No" when he asked if I wanted an encore and I told him not to worry about getting to the next American Idol audition. I was a little bummed that I wasn't going to get to spend any time with him that day due to his kids being in 4H and being busy with the county fair, but oh well....I'm OK with it. Gotta like a dad that's so devoted to the kids. HE is actually sad about school starting for his kids tomorrow and thinks Shelby got a bum wrap because she has a full week the first week of school.

That afternoon was the parade for our county fair and again this year, I designed the hospital's float. One other person & I built it, and then we had a few employees with their daughters on the float. The parade theme was "Who's the FAIRest of All?" so I did a princess theme....all the little girls wore disney princess costumes or something similar, and we made the float girly and foo-foo with fringe, bows & ribbons, and made a "mirror" by covering a 4x5 piece of plywood with aluminum foil and making a frame. It won 1st place

That evening I had supper with some of the Sertoma members and a few work friends, then 4 of us, my friend and her husband, and a guy friend from work did a little bar hopping and pool playing and a few other things, but it wasn't my ass hanging out the car window mooning people as we went down the highway. Know what else? I was the youngest one in the car!!! Anyway, we called it a night around 2a.m. and I went home to bed.

Yesterday was the first day of school......Shelby said it was "fine" except she doesn't like having PE for the very first class and doesn't think she'll like Industrial Arts either. The boy she liked at the end of last school year is "sooo yesterday" and she's got her eye on a couple others. Greeeaaaattttt!

That's my update for now, hope all of you have a wonderful day!
