Back to Reality

2:11 PM, Oct. 10, 2006 .. Posted in Purrrrr .. 3 comments .. Link

I'm back in the Real World, and so far, so good. I didn't have any hatemail on my desk, and only 3 voicemail messages to return today!

Highlights of the vacation were:

Eating pizza from Basil Doc's (yummy!), and going to this corn maze and having the full moon light our way on Friday.

On Saturday, eating at Palomino (awesome LemonDrop Martini, not-so-awesome service), then seeing The Lion King at The Denver Center for Performing Arts. The theater is beautiful and the show was awesome. The costumes were spectacular and I got goose bumps so many times during the performance I lost count. I think the giraffe and elephant costumes were my favorites, and my favorite scene in the show was the wildebeest stampede - the way they did it, not what it was about...

On Sunday, we spent some quality family time playing board games and got into a hot match of Mexican Train Dominoes. I had never heard of that game before, but let me tell ya, I know it now! A few members of the family were just a bit competitive and refused to lose (NOT ME - I reached the losing score first every time!) first, it was playing to 300. Then it was 500, then 750, then 1000! We were up til after 2a.m. playing (and maybe drinking just a little alcohol)

Yesterday, we went shopping and bought Shelby a new winter coat and left Denver about 12:30 and drove in the rain all the way home.

Shelby missed 2 days of school so she has a big pile of homework to make up, but  she says it was worth the homework to have the fun she did. She got to hang out w/BIL at work and met lawyers, judges, and got to sit in on a trial.

Now we are home and back in the real world. She has her last volleyball game of the season this afternoon and then we are meeting NewGuy for supper. That's about it, I'll be reading and catching up with all of you in the next couple days.

I am so glad you both had a great time.....sometimes it is just exactly what you need to deal with the day to day BS.

Did new guy pine for you all weekend?

Hope it doesn't take long to get back into the swing of things.
