Why??

All I'm trying to do this morning, is pay my gas bill. The weather's getting chilly so I'd like to be able to run my furnace in order to keep myself warm. The problem I run into is convenience costs extra. In order to pay my $12.05 gas bill over the phone or online using a debit card, there is a $3.95 surcharge! 32.78% of the total of my bill just to pay it "easily". Fine! I'll go to the post office, pay .99 for a money order and another .39 for a stamp and snail mail the thing in. grrrrrrr

Um, me has a friend up here in Ontario..........Ya thinks $12.85 is something??? Um, even in the summer her's is around 50$ Canadian.........Welcome to Canada huh??/
