Random Blah, Blah, BlahI can definitely tell the weather is changing today. I have a nagging headache that won't go away and my arm hurts around the plates & screws where I broke it almost 9 years ago.
It's gotten cooooold - the temp this morning when I got up was 2! We are supposed to get snowed on this weekend, and according to which weather person you listen to at which time, get anywhere from "just flurries" to possibly 8-10 inches. I don't think anybody knows yet. Oh well, not much we can do about it, just sit back and let it fly. It's not supposed to start til Sunday which is OK with me. That way Saturday's plans with NewGuy won't get messed up. He emailed me from the store this morning telling me they had gotten a truck in "with just what you need in Nebraska in January." There were lawn mowers, fertilizer, whiskey barrel planters, hoses, sprinklers, and yard fountains and assorted other spring-time things.
Shelby is spending the weekend with one of her best friends. She is going home with the friend today after school and I am picking her up Sunday afternoon around 4. Providing there's not a blizzard. If there is, the friend's dad will have my daughter for another night. The girls probably wouldn't mind that either - there's no school Monday, so that would be another night for them to hang out and do the pre-teen thing. She tried telling me she is a teenager already. I told her no, she's not officially a teen until her 13th b-day. Her response was "Well, it's less than 4 months away so you might as well call me a teenager." Uh-uh. Just because she's had the attitude of a teenager for the past 2 years doesn't mean I'm ready to call her one.
NewGuy's son, N had to call me last night "just to say goodnight." That gave me a warm fuzzy. The 2 girls also have to talk to me at least once an evening when I'm on the phone with him. It's cool, I'm glad they've warmed up to me.
