The Journey Begins

I am officially a college student.  The first class was last night and went pretty well.  Nothing much more than getting to know the rest of the students in the re-orientation to higher learning class.  There was a vocabulary & reading comprehension eval but that's the only real "work" we did.  I'm sure that will change later this week in my other 2 classes.

Leo sent me flowers & a balloon yesterday to say good luck & he's proud of me.  Sooooo nice to have such a supportive guy cheering for me.  Then again, he is a male, and therefore keeps talking about having a college girlfriend.  pervert.

Shelby is going to stay at A's house while I am in classes.  Leo & his kids were shopping last night & he was buying everybody new sandals/crocs/flip-flops for spring.  He called Shelby to see what kind she wanted and said they'd be waiting for her this weekend.  How sweet is that?

That's about all I've got....writing the letter yesterday let me vent alot of stuff that I didn't even realize was even there.  Once I started writing it and got on a roll, my fingers just flew and didn't stop til I got it all out. I feel much better today.  Diet-wise, I'm still on track with the exercise, going to the treadmill & airbike at lunchtime.  The weather is warming up so I'll be going out to the walking trail around the hospital to change things up a little.  As of last Thursday, I had lost 6 pounds. We'll see what this week brings.

I am so excited for you. I really think you will like being in school. More than anything, I enjoyed the intelligent conversations with fellow students & some of the intense class discussions. It made me feel smart & like I had something valuable to contribute.

Leo sounds like a dream. He really is wonderful for you & Shelby. What a great change from what you are both used to!

Keep us posted about your classes. And a word of advice...as you look over all that work on the sylibi, don't get overwhelmed. Take it one day at a time & you will do great!
