Another Monday

Leo & I hosted the Easter dinner for his family yesterday.  He rotates holidays with the two sisters that live closest  and yesterday was time to gather at Leo's.  Everybody pitched in and dinner for 20 went off without a hitch.  The younger kids hunted for the eggs that were hidden by the "older kids".  They are really the young adult nieces & nephews Leo has.  He is the 6th of 7 siblings, so his are the only "little kids" except for grand-nieces & nephews.  Everybody left around 4:30 so we took a couple hours to watch a movie and unwind then I decided I should get started on a writing assignment for tonight's class.

My dad, on the other hand, had an Easter weekend that I'm sure he'd rather forget.  Long story short, on the way to Denver to visit sis2 & her hubby, the motor blew up in his Expedition.  He & his wife had just gotten over the Colorado border from Nebraska when it blew.  They waited 2 hours for a tow.  Fortunately the tow truck was able to take them all the way into Denver and sis2 picked them up from the dealership that they were taken to.  The next day a mechanic delivered the bad news, and Dad decided to buy a new 2007 truck.  Nice souvenir from a holiday trip.

This afternoon when I got back from lunch, Leo called and we were chatting away when a call beeped in from the cafeteria.  It was one of the girls that works up front.  She told me that Dumbass had come in to the cafeteria to get lunch and he was sitting there at one of the tables.  "So don't come this way!" she said.  I told her thanks for lookin' out for me.  When I got back to Leo, he said I should go ahead and go out there and "tell him I said hi and let him know what I did to his ex-wife last night."   As satisfying as that would have been, I didn't think it would be worth the irritation it causes me just to see him, let alone talk to him.

That's the wrap-up from the Den for now, hope you all have a lovely Monday evening.

and p.s. - do we really need another reality show????
