The Merry-Go-Round Should Slow Down Soon
This weekend is the last weekend of tax season (get those returns e-filed or mailed by Tuesday at midnight!) and Monday is my last Monday night class for the term. Without H&R Block on Saturday & my Monday evenings freed up a bit I should be able to breathe a little easier.
I can tell Shelby is feeling a little bit neglected...she's been more clingy, and when we are home together, she talks and babbles non-stop. I know she wants & needs more Mom-time than she's been getting but Lordy! When do I get to stay put for 5 minutes? I am planning on taking her out for dinner - just the 2 of us - on the actual night of her birthday. Hopefully that helps. Sis2 is coming from Denver over the weekend we are having her b-day party but I'm supposed to keep it a secret. Shelby asked me why we couldn't go to Denver to see her that weekend and have her b-day the following one. Luckily, I am going to be out of state at a convention that weekend so I told her we had to leave things the way they are. I think we'll go to Denver when I have my break from school next month the week before Memorial Day. I am grateful that she still wants to spend time with me, because in a couple years I'll be the last one she wants to hang out with.
A couple nights ago I called Leo as I was driving home from class. He was putting the 2 younger kids to bed, and they both had to talk to me before they would go. N told me he couldn't wait til I'm there this weekend and I got an unsolicited "I love you" from K. What the hell??? Leo asked me what I said to them on the phone to get those and I told him I did nothing! It was sweet to hear though.
One of these weekends, I want to sleep past 8:00 a.m.! Maybe I'll be able to this Sunday. I could put my head down on my desk right now and sleep til it's time to go home probably but my boss might have a small problem with that.
That's all there is....hope you all have a wonderful, restful weekend (Andee, you can rest next weekend ) and if you get some extra zzzzz's, send 'em my way!

That sounds really nice right now.
Shelby knows she has a great mom...and really you are all she's got. I think it is wonderful that she doesn't take you for granted. Our 15 year old daughter likes to spend time with us....on an occasion. Most of the time she is in her room on the cell phone or listening to music.
Have a good weekend. Next week, you can breath easier.
like to hear that too

I like to hear my girls say they want to go somewhere with me. One time, I offered for Rachel to take a friend to a college tour.. figured "it would be more fun than just going with yourMOM" she said, no I really don't mind going with mymommy........made me feel good for sure.
My one friend's daughter and my one niece will do anything to get away from their Moms.... sad.
I feel lucky when I know it is not that way here.
