We Now Resume Your Normal Daughter

Seems the storm is over.  Shelby is over being mad at me and is back to herself.   Nice to have my daughter back.  It seems that PMS may have played a role in her mood and attitude earlier. hah! Welcome to the club  Poor baby....that's gotta suck when you're not used to it.   She did pretty good in her track meet on Tuesday.  She ran the 200 and the 4x400 relay.  Her 200 time was 32.4, which got her 2nd in her heat, but did not place her in the final standings.  The 4x400 relay didn't fare so well.  It was cool watching her from the stands...she's done OK with other sports like volleyball & basketball, but those weren't really her "niche".  I've always told her I thought track or cross country would be more suited to her and judging by Tuesday, I think my instincts were right.  Once she gets some experience and seasoning behind her, she could be awesome!

One more night of classes for the week....Business Law tonight.  Class was cancelled last week due to the instructor being sick.  So all together, we are supposed to be covering about 9 chapters in the book plus having a test tonight.  Could be another 10:30 p.m. night.  That would put me home at 11:30. ick. The first test that we took in that class I got an A on - if we have a test tonight, I don't know that that would be the case.  I met with my advisor yesterday about class schedule for the summer term.  If I get the classes I want, I will have a math class on Tues & Fri mornings and English/Writing on Tues evenings.  Only one evening class for the summer - I can handle that! That will still leave me time to play.  The advisor asked me if I was holding up OK with the schedule I have this term "A lot of the time when I see you in the halls, you like tired."   THANK YOU SO MUCH.  I really needed a boost like that today.   I told her that between working during the day 5 days a week and classes 3 nights a week, and working Saturdays for tax season and my daughter, my ass was getting kicked a little, but now, maybe things will get a little better.  She said she was concerned about burnout - I told her that's not an option.  I'll be fine with a little deck therapy this weekend.

Hope you get to kick back & relax soon!
Thanks for your comment, I really needed to be reminded that I can hang in & be strong! It meant a lot.

Don't hold your breath...

I don't want to rain on your parade, but don't expect Shelby's happy turn to last. Moodiness is just a teenage girl thing. Drives us both nuts, but we have finally learned to just ignore it most of the time.

I'm going to enjoy some deck therapy this weekend myself. We've still got some cleaning to do at the old house, but I intend to spend a good deal of time in the evenings on our new, 2 story deck, drinking wine and relaxing with my husband. We have both been SOOOO stressed the past couple of weeks. It is now time for some much needed R & R.

Have a great weekend!
