Comfortably Numb

1:29 PM, May. 21, 2007 .. Posted in Whateverrrr .. 1 comments .. Link

Remember Mushmouth from the Fat Albert cartoon? (Yes, I know I just severely dated myself)  That's how I feel right now.  I just got back from a dentist appointment where he shot me full of novacaine and drilled & filled a couple teeth.  The entire right side of my face is numb.

Then again, my entire body was pretty much numb at the end of Saturday's wedding reception.  That was a pretty good time.  The wedding was nice despite being a little lengthy.  Leo was the best man so I had the 3 kids sitting by me.  About 1/2 way through, N was getting antsy so he went with his cousin to help string cans behind the couple's car - that was a relief.  Then K started getting really bad toward the end, finally after a couple warnings about being good and sitting still, I had to take her to the bathroom for a talk - by the time we got out, it was over.

Shelby was not at the wedding because she did a 5K run/walk as a running buddy with A's daughter.  The girls did OK, completing the course in 45 minutes.  Shelby said she could've been done sooner but didn't want to push the other girl too much.   She's 9 so Shelby didn't think they should try to run it all.  I also think Shelby didn't want to push herself too much either.   I picked her up after the wedding and she went to the reception and had fun with the rest of us.

Yesterday's spa party was absolutely wonderful....I highly recommend looking up your local Beauti-Control consultant and booking one NOW!  Like any home party, they try to sell you the products, but the demonstration is divine.  We started with a hand treatment, did a lip exfoliation followed by nice lip balm, then went through the steps of cleaning, moisturizing toning and exfoliating our faces,  put on some foot stuff (margarita scented!) then covered our feet with plastic & spa socks for a while then put some eye pillows over our eyes, aromatherapy neck wraps around our necks, a warm cloth over our faces, and sat back and listened to some calming music and did some relaxation exercises.  AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  When we were all done we were relaxed, soft, smooth and smelled goooood.   Leo even commented on how soft my well, never mind what he commented on.  He said I was soft and smelled good.  Let's leave it at that!

Not much scheduled this week except a graduation on Sunday.  Leo & I decided that during the month of June, if anybody wanted to schedule anything with us on a weekend, the answer is NO.  It feels like it was just a couple weeks ago when it was March and we were talking about planning a zoo trip for after the kids got out of school.  "Aw, that's a long time from now," he said.  And look, May's almost gone.

Busy bee

You HAVE been really busy lately. And it is amazing how quickly time flies once we become parents.

Good luck on keeping that calendar clear. I know all too well how quickly my "quiet time" gets crazy.

Hope everything is OK after the dentist. Ouchie!
