Good Thing I Kept Breathing

The pigs grounded themselves, Hell thawed out and the Universe righted itself.  That's because ONCE AGAIN, Dumbass had a convenient excuse for not being able to follow through on what he told me last week.  He got sent out of town to return tools & materials to the main office of the temp company he works for.  He called & told me this at 4:05 Friday and we were supposed to meet at 4:30.  Then he asked if I was gonna be around at 6 because that's when he'd be back in town.  Uh, no, weekend...hello?????

I felt like rattling his cage yesterday so I called & got no answer.  So I went by his apt & he didn't answer the door, but his van was outside. hmmmm... Then about an hour later, he called & asked if I was looking for him. Somebody saw me knocking on his door and that's why he called. Uh-huh.  Would that somebody have been him, perhaps?????  Then he told me he had a copy of his last checkstub right in front of him and the year to date withholding is $600 and that's all he knows. 

This morning, I got out of class & had a text message on my phone...."call your significant other."  So, I called Leo even though we had talked for about 20 minutes while I was on my way to class.  He said he hadn't left it...  I looked at missed calls and there was one that I had gotten from Dumbass while I was in class.  Significant Other?!?!? Insignificant pain in my ass is more like it!

I finally got ahold of Dumbass and told him don't ever refer to himself as my "significant" anything ever again.  Then he went on to tell me what he had found out, blah, blah, blah...Here's the story in a nutshell.

He told me: He's had over $600 withheld from his paychecks so far this year

His work told him: They sent a payment last Friday, and will send another one next week.

His work told me (because I called to verify what he told me):  The same thing, and when I asked about the $600 yr to date, the payroll person said she couldn't tell me any more, but if a state worker were to call, she would tell them.

The state told me: they last received money 5/7 and paid me 5/9. (yeah, thanks for that newsflash) and when they talked to his work, they were told he is a seasonal employee and that there's no guarantee of 40 hours a week. When there's enough hours worked to withhold, they withhold. 

I told the state:  that I'm skeptical about the "seasonal" classification.  The place he's been working is right down the hill from where I work...I drive by there every day and his vehicle is always there.

WHERE IS THE DISCREPENCY HAPPENING?!?!?!?!

I need to make one more call, and hopefully the person I call can take all of the above and get answers to my questions.  Another concern I have is with this new job, he's gonna be traveling all over the country (he could end up setting up a Wal-Mart near YOU!) and hopefully someone will be able to keep track of his to make sure that he keeps paying. Of course I've laid the groundwork for that by asking that he give me the contact info for the office that he'll be working through so I can reach him in the event of an emergency with Shelby.....

ENOUGH TIME AND BLOG SPACE WASTED ON THAT ASSHOLE!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Yesterday's court session went OK for Leo & kids, but didn't go well enough.  They have yet one more court date....July 23....another technicality, another loophole they don't want someone to have a chance to get through, so they went through what they could and made significant progress in their case, but the final step has yet to be taken.  However, it will be on July 23.  Right before our vacation at the end of July.

Update on the Kids' Connection front....I got a letter saying that Shelby will continue to be eligible for coverage through the end of the year when it is time for recertification again.  Now, I am waiting to hear from the orthodontist's office to see what they decide about paying for her braces.  Leo said he really goes to bat for the kids, so hopefully they will decide to do it. (He did N's braces and they really liked him.)

Last weekend at the lake was fun...the kids had a blast tubing & riding Leo's sister's jet ski.  D attempted to get up on skis & tried to get Shelby to do it, but Shelby said no.  Leo's sis has some trainer skis that she said she'd try but not regular skis.  Leo got a wild hair and decided to jump in with the kids while they were swimming around the boats & tubes and was in the water for about 1/2 an hour.  When he got back in the boat, I asked, "Ummm...did you happen to take your phone out of your pocket before you jumped in?"  He went  and then  and pulled a very soggy cell phone out of his pocket.  And he will be harrassed about that little incident for a looooong time 'cuz his sis was there too.

That's about it for the update....I'm getting back into the school routine and things are so far/so good there.

Just keep doing everything you are doing for yourself & Shelby, it will all work out in the end. My ex is an attorney and I have gotten the blunt end of the stick too!!! But it will be okay, just have faith.
