Wal-Mart is a great store if you want to, say, buy everything you need to set up a new household or get school supplies without breaking the bank. BUT! It is not such a wise decision to buy jewelry there...Shelby & her dad got me a ring there for Christmas last year. It's pretty, center oval cut emerald type stone, and each side has channel set square shape stones. I waited a little while to send it in to get sized, I think it was early February before I got that done. Got it back in mid-March (yes, it took 7 weeks because I'm to cheap to pay to have things like that done) and I wore it until early May when one of the square stones fell out. Took it back to have it fixed, (they send all jewelry work to be done to their "warehouse"-now where this "warehouse" is, I have no idea...could be some little sweat shop full of 6 yr olds in Bangladesh for all I know.) Anyway, finally got the thing back late June, and wore it for 4 days before ANOTHER STONE FELL OUT! Took it in AGAIN to have it fixed on July 8. They called last week, and said it was done. again. (ONLY 4 weeks this time) So I went to pick it up today, and THERE IS STILL A STONE MISSING FROM THE DAMN RING!!! It was all nice and shiny, I could tell it had been cleaned, but the f$%^&ing stone was missing. The jewelry counter person fell all over herself apologizing for it, and said well, I'll send it to a local jeweler to have it fixed on Monday and you should be able to pick it up the following Monday. At this point, I don't even want the freakin' ring! Not just because of all the crap I have gone thru with it, but my soon-to-be-ex-husband bought it...ewww but since it is too late to return the ring, I'm stuck with it. And, since it's Shelby's birthstone, I will wear it and focus on THAT aspect of it rather than who bought it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!!!!! |
