2 words....CAR INSURANCE

I got a notice in the mail a couple days ago from my current insurance company that they are jacking my monthly rate to $93!!! Totally insane! I have no moving violations since 1998, one not-at-fault accident in 2002, and one comp claim in 2003 from when I hit a deer. The car I drive is a '99 Saturn SL2 5-speed manual - no bells, no whistles, nothing extra. So why they feel my rate has to go up to that outrageous amount is beyond me.  While I was reading my email earlier, there was a "get an auto quote now" ad on the page.  I figured, what the hell, and went about submitting my information and getting a quote. Within 15 minutes, I had an email from a local agent giving me a quote of $48. $48 people!!! That is almost HALF PRICE. It sounded like one of those too good to be true things so I called the agent and asked him to double check the quote. And it was right! So now Progr***ive can kiss my ass and I am cancelling them before my next payment is due!

The same thing happened to my best friend recently with All State. She came over, we did the online quotes, and she found a rate for about 1/3 of the price.

We are with Progressive now. I wonder if we are going to be getting bad news too.
