Now You See Me, Now You Don't!
Hi everybody...I just got done reading the recent entries and it seems like our little group has had quite a lot going on in the last few days. This will be my only post this week since I was AWOL yesterday and the rest of the week I will be on vacation out of state! I had parent-teacher conferences at Shelby's school last Thursday and was soooo proud of her grades...5 A's & 1 B. Definitely shoots her dad's theory down that with all the disruption I have caused in her life, her grades will slip and she will have trouble in school. Looks like she's right on track to me! I really wanted to rub his nose in that, but I won't 'cuz it would be too easy. He got a copy of her grades, he knows already! She even got kudos from the band teacher who said she should set her sights on first chair when they hold "chair tests" next week. I told her there was definitely a special treat in her future, like a special dinner out with mom or some shopping...we'll figure it out when I am back from vacation. She's definitely not looking very forward to spending 5 days with her dad while I'm out of town, but I told her that this has been being planned for a year and there wasn't alot she could do other than make the best of her time with her dad. Actually, between girl scouts, cheerleading and spending the night with a friend, she isn't really going to be at his house much.
And speaking of the S2BXH...he made an ass out of himself again last Saturday night. He had Shelby in the afternoon until 10pm and when he brought her home, he asked if he could come in and talk to me. I told him no, I really didn't feel like talking to him, in fact I was going to go back to my friend's house where I was until I went home at 10. A group of us had gotten together to watch the football game that afternoon and were still having fun. There were other kids there that Shelby could hang out with and watch TV, play games etc. Since we live about a block apart I was going to just walk over there, then he got all bent out of shape about me "walking the streets after dark with his daughter" WTF?!?!?! It is a block. In a town of 600. Street lights the whole way. Not much gonna happen. So just to shut him up, we got in my car and drove the block. He followed and yelled out his car window at me after I got out and headed to my friend's house. I told him he better leave and quit harrassing me or I was calling the cops. Then he said "You better not ignore me or you'll wish to god you wouldn't of." Mind you, "his daughter" was standing right there watching and hearing all of this. I told him again to leave and then went into the house. He spun his tires on the dirt road in front of the house and screeched around the corner. And he wonders why I say I'm not coming back to him!
Summer came back for a repeat performance. The last 4 days have been in the 90's. We set a new record high of 94 on Saturday. And the wind blew constantly at about 30-35 mph with gusts higher than that. My landlords put up an aluminum shed on a 10 by 8 ft. cement slab in my back yard, which I badly needed 'cuz there is no storage in my house. Just 2 closets in our bedrooms which barely hold clothes. Anyway, after they spent all day Saturday putting it up, on Sunday I looked out my kitchen window while I was doing dishes, and it had flipped over and was laying on its top in the yard about 12 feet away from the slab! So I called them and said "Big wind, little shed, not a good combo!" and told them about it being flipped over. So, they had to come over and set it back up right, and straighten out a couple crumples made when it landed on the top, and ANCHOR IT DOWN. ( Hmmmmm....maybe if they'd have done it that way in the first place, it wouldn't have flipped????) Fall is due to reappear tomorrow when the high is 59!
Hope you all have a good week...no stress, husbands/significant others all behave themselves, kids are good and all of that. I know I will have much fun! Ta-ta til Monday!

Your soon to be X sound so much like my husband it is not even funny. my hubby wants to control everything and everybody and I am sooo tired of it. i relate especially to the part where he did not want you to walk with your daughter at night. My hubby gives me grief for walking with my kids during the day -- because I can not control them and they will get hurt. That coming from a man who never walks anywhere with his kids. How would he know. Sorry, this is supposed to be a pleasant comment. good for you for standing up to him! I am still working on it.
