A re-cap of 2006

Posted at 7:36 PM, Jan. 2, 2007

Well, I was going to re-cap 2006 but that dang Kris tagged me with this... so I will do it first.  I will not tag you all but I will tag everyone who wants to do it.  I thought it would be fun to learn some things about myself, and who knows, you might learn about your self too.

ABC TAGS

A - Available or single: I am in a new relationship, but if that doesn't work I will be available.
B - Best friend: I would have to say Julie.  She is the one that just takes me in stride, doesn't judge or expect anything of me.
C - Cake or pie: Yes, Kris, brownies count as cake, but for me it is pie, apple, pumpkin, chocolate cream, cherry, lemon meringue, rhubarb (and many others) is my favourite!
D - Drink of choice: Diet Coke - Even if I am not dieting - It is my caffiene fix!
E - Essential item you use everyday: chapstick, definately chapstick
F - Favorite color: GREEN... any form of except teal or aqua
G - Gummy bears or worms: I don't really like either, but if I HAD to choose, it would be worms

H - Hometown: I was born in Creston, BC but then moved to Penticton, lived there till I was about 10 and lived the rest of my life in Dawson Creek... no not like the show.
I - Indulgence: Extra butter popcorn - usually at about 10 am with a diet coke and gossip in Julie's office
J - January or February: Yuck, neither, I live in northern Canada, more like June
K - Kids & names: Darrel & Tryna - Edited to reflect my biological children only
L - Life is incomplete without? Me.  Lately I have had to realize that ME is just as important as everyone and everything else.  I forgot that for quite a while but I am back on track now...
M - Marriage date: September something (either 27th or 29th) I don't remember but then again, neither does he.  The only reason we are so happily married is because he lives 4000 miles away from me ;)
N - Number of siblings: 2 brothers, one older one younger and I am certainly suffering from middle child syndrome.

O - Oranges or apples: I think it depends on the day and the season.  Right now oranges because of the mandarins
P - Phobias or fears: Hmmm, not sure I want to disclose this highly sensitive information - Lint - I don't do dryer lint - it is made of bugs and dead skin
Q - Fave quote: "Believe you will, and act as if it's happened." - Jeffrey Gitomer
R - Reason to smile: Always, a good joke or a good "Easy Button" commercial
S - Season: Winter, because mostly that is all I have
T - Tag 3 or 4 people: hmmm, I might have to think about this because I am not sure I know 3 or 4 people who blog.
U - Unknown fact about me: I am off emergency status for my breast! YAY!!! Everyone will know this by the end of today though! :)
V- Vegetable you don't like:  Cooked  carrots and turnips
W - Worst habit: Over thinking ANY situation
X - Xrays: Does ultrasound and mamogram count here?   Had enough of this crap lately to last a life time.
Y - Your fave food: Cucumbers and Easy Mac.  I don't buy Easy Mac anymore - No way to justify the carbs! LOL

Z - Zodiac sign: Scorpio, I am a red haired scorpio - make your own assumption...

OK, so there is the ABC's of me, it was relatively painless.  But now lets get down to the dirty... 2006.  I wish someone would do the numerology and find out just what exactly it was with that year!  I don't think I met anyone in my travels during the year that was really happy with it.  I personally would like to blame it on the numbers, but I will tell you, 2007 is already looking better for me! YAY!  So a recap.

January - Sandra died, I hit my child (I had never and never have again hit anyone), I had a few counselling sessions, I started drinking coke again (decided it was better than smoking)

February - Missed a day of work during RRSP season (NEVER AGAIN), Natasha died, crack touched my life again

March - Got licensed for mutual funds, Donalda died, I got to see Darrel play in a tournament

April - The dogs were euthanized wrongfully

May - Marshall's first birthday, Jayde died, Darrel turned 16

June - School's out but children have to deal with death of their friend Darin, planning for Fagatawa is in full swing

July - Fagatawa and over 70 people signed in, Terrance and I ceased to be friends after 20 years of friendship

August - This may have been an OK month, I am not sure...

September - Kids started back to school, I bought my tickets for Toronto, Kali died

October - Creativ Festival in Toronto, I got to meet the girls on the design team of the Stamping Zoo, split with Lee Ann

November - Turned 35 (that was hard), rough go of it with new relationship - not exactly sure what we were doing yet, found out daughter is skipping school

December - Emotional roller coaster, found lump in my breast, aunt had heart attack, other aunt fell and slipped on the ice and broke her leg, 2006 was finally OVER!

So, I was given the advice to write this on a piece of paper, wrinkle it up and then throw it at someone, it would help to take away the bad... well, I decided I didn't want to throw the bad energy at someone, so it is here instead, where everyone can decide if they want to read it or not.
